Ross Hendy wins veteran's first event of the year

With a number of holiday visitors wishing to join our game, a field of 62 players registered for this morning's Single Stableford event.

Results on the day were as follows:

1st: Ross Hendy with an excellent score of 25 points.

2nd: Visitor Michael Gordon with 23 points.

3rd: Lee Ridgway with 22 on count back.

Ball or Chocolate:

Ron Hanlon on 22, Neal Watson and Robert McKirdy on 21, Wal Williams, Peter McRae and Kaye Lunt on 20, and finally Steve Swanbury, Allen Lee, Derek Hoare, Len Rogers, Barry Hoban, Tim Starr and Henry Anderson all on 19 points.

Bradman Award:

Perhaps feeling the after effects of a good new year, Michael Birks was off his game and took out the award this week.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Phil Coorey took out the award on a coin toss from Allen Gannon, both players in the hole for two.

6th: Gordon Etheridge, a visitor from Melbourne.

Ladies 7th: Leonie Snodgrass.

Men's 7th: Allen Lee.

Accuracy Award:

With a tongue in cheek suggestion that he'd placed the ball, Bruce Martin took out the Accuracy award with a fine drive touching the centre string line.

Next Week:

The game next week will be a 4BBB Stableford event with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and a shotgun start at 8.30am.
