Narooma Rotary will be holding their Annual Australia Day Duck Race on Friday, January 26th in aid of Australian Rotary Health and the Roatary Narooma Tertiary Scholarship fund for students from Narooma High. Donations will also be given to the Narooma Surf Lifesvaing Club for their assistance on the day and to the Bermagui CRABBS (Cancer Research Advocate Bikers) who own the 1000 ducks. 1,000 plastic ducks, which are all numbered, will be dropped from Narooma Bridge at 10am to coincide with an outgoing tide. The first duck to cross the finish line near the Apex Park Boat Ramp will win $1,000 for the holder of the ticket with the same number as that of the winning duck. The last duck wins $100. Most onlookers walk along Mill Bay Boardwalk and follow the ducks as they float down Wagonga Inlet to their destination. They duck tickets are sold several weeks in advance at $5 per duck - it is a major fund raise and a great visual family spectacle. Get in early for your tickets
