Tuross Head Vets Golf Results

The second largest turnout of players in recent times registered for this morning's Special Par event. Our numbers were bolstered by several visitors to Tuross during the holiday period when players of all ages are welcome to play in the Vets competition. The Special Par game is unique to Tuross Vets where a score below handicap can result in multiple plusses and is a game generally favouring the higher handicap golfer. Results on the day were as follows:

1st: Greg Thornton with +5 on count back.

2nd: Terry Lunn, also with +5.

3rd: Sandra Hanlon with +4 on count back.

Ball or Chocolate:

Dorothy Madden and Len Rogers with +4, Riley Willcox, Ian Manton and Des Jackson on +3, Noel Downie, Errol Soden, Herb Muriwai, David Williams and Ray Downey with +2, John Cox, Ross Macalpine, Peg Nevett, Gus Alameddine and Lance Shadbolt all on +1, followed by Ann Challender, Paul Pereira, Kevin Dukes and Andrew Gordon all on square and on count back.

Bradman Award:

One of our visitors, Pat Janek, suffered at the hands of the handicapper and was the unfortunate winner of the award this week.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Ross Hendy.

6th: Gus Alameddine.

Ladies 7th: Ann Ware.

Men's 7th: Riley Willcox.

Accuracy Award:

Rick Brake took out the honours this week.

Next Week:

Next week's game will be a Single Stableford event with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and shotgun start at 8.30am.
