Filmmaker Bill Bennett to visit Narooma for special screening

Eurobodalla Council’s disability social enterprise the School of Possibilities is proud to be hosting an evening with filmmaker and director Bill Bennett at Narooma Kinema next month – but there’s a catch.

School of Possibilities needs to sell 49 tickets to secure the special event, which will feature a screening of Bill’s recently-released movie PGS – Intuition is your Personal Guidance System, as well as a special question-and-answer session with Bill after the film.

Bill Bennett is an award-winning journalist, film director, producer and screenwriter. He has directed 16 feature films since 1983, including Kiss or Kill, Spider & Rose, Backlash, In A Savage Land and The Nugget.

PGS is a documentary detailing Bill’s four-year search to find the source of a voice that saved his life – his own intuition. It features some of the world’s leading experts on intuition, spanning the fields of science, religion and spirituality discussing what it is, how it works and how to access it.

Bill’s unique film distribution model includes on-demand cinema screenings, which require at least 49 tickets sold 10 days prior to the event.

The screening will be a fundraiser for Council’s School of Possibilities, a vocational employment training project that offers people with disability opportunities to develop their individual talents and potentially earn an income. The screening will be their first big event, following its art group’s inaugural exhibition and sale last year. Funds raised will go toward special excursions and activities as well as art and gardening supplies.

School of Possibilities Social Enterprise Planner Vida Sobottka said it would be a real coup to have Bill Bennett travel down to Narooma for the event. She encouraged anyone interested in attending to buy their tickets now to help ensure it goes ahead.

“Bill is currently touring America where he has been holding sell-out screenings of PGS,” she said.

“We’re incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to host a screening of this fantastic film and to have the filmmaker himself available to answer questions from the audience.

“PGS has received rave reviews and has been described as ‘life-changing’, ‘ground-breaking’ and ‘bloody brilliant’. I’m sure audiences will be enthralled.”

The event will be held on Friday 23 February from 6.30pm at the Narooma Kinema. Tickets are $25 and can be booked online via https://fan-force.com/screenings/pgs-narooma-kinema-nsw/. For more information about the film, including to view the trailer, visit www.pgsthemovie.com
