BBay Bridge under fire once again for poor timing of openings during max holiday traffic periods

Traffic backed up at noon today (Jan 28th 2018) as a result of the Batemans Bay Bridge being opened, as scheduled at 11:45am

The footage below shows the traffic backed up to the Mad Mile- well outside the Batemans Bay town area - witnesses also reported the traffic backed up along Beach Road as far as Birdland near Batehaven. Once the bridge lowered it still took considerable time to clear as the lights at Cranbrook Road, Perry Street and North Street were still being driven by general CBD demands from residents going about their weekly Saturday activities.

Video courtesy of T. Lauricella The RMS Live Traffic reported that the Batemans Bay traffic was HEAVY at 1:05pm a full hour after the bridge was lowered. Anecdotally the delay in travel time was more in the area of 25 minutes from one side of Batemans Bay CBD area to the other

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
