The Beagle Editor,
I haven't visited Moruya as a casual visitor for many years. Though I have endured the peak summer traffic that travels through Moruya, I comment on my experience of my visit last Thursday. Is the traffic always that busy in the middle of the day on a weekday?
From my brief study, the traffic seemed to consist of tourists, local cars and utes, and some big semi-trainers and other transports. The bigger transports were sometimes queuing across intersections while waiting for the traffic lights to change. Which brings me to the point of my letter: "Moruya and The Five 'B's... B-Doubles and the Batemans Bay Bridge! The BBB (Batemans Bay Bridge) will allow B-Doubles to access the "Far South Coast (in "Sydney Speak").
Because the existing Batemans Bay bridge doesn't allow B-Doubles, there is no point in using B-doubles at all for the South Coast run. When the New Bridge is completed, these behemoths will be able to travel the full length of the Princes Highway. How will Moruya cope? And how will the Narooma bridge and Narooma township cope? ESC and RMS better start talking soon. Name and address supplied
