Batemans Bay Toastmasters newest member Moosa Kutty recently presented his ‘Ice Breaker’ speech. This 7 minute speech is the first for a new member and concentrates on introducing themselves to other members, their personal interests and other aspects of their life.
Moosa was asked for some insight into his life after arriving in Australia; and what his experiences have been as a new member of Batemans Bay Toastmasters.
"I arrived in Australia from India in January 2016 and lived in Maitland before moving to Batemans Bay in September 2017. My philosophy in life is to live by the Golden-Rule: "The principle of treating others as one would wish to be treated." I'm finding Batemans Bay an amazing place to live. It is one of the most beautiful towns I have been to in my life. I joined Toastmasters Batemans Bay because I have always wanted to learn communication with large groups of people and since joining in December I feel very comfortable with other members. This, I feel, will give me the confidence in life to do what I haven't done before. My personal aims in life are to be able to present my passions in life to a million people! I feel by improving my communication in Toastmasters I will achieve this aim and plan to stick to it for the long run."
Moosa is presented with his first Toastmasters manual by president Noal Annabel.
Batemans Bay Toastmasters Club meets every 1st and 3nd Tuesday of the month at the Soldiers Club. They provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and self leadership skills, through public speaking. This development is within a small supportive group environment, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
