Tackle World Moruya Fishing Report

Moruya River

The river is fishing reasonably well at the moment for most estuary species.

Flathead are still spread throughout the system. Hopping soft plastics down the drop offs into deeper water is working great.

Some nice bream have been hanging around the bridge and shallow diving hard bodied lures like Jackson Athletes have worked well. Baits like prawns and worms have also been catching a few.

Whiting are being caught just past the hospital up on the sand flats. Baits like beach worms and live yabbies are working best.

Tuross River

Some big whiting have been caught lately, mainly towards the river mouth but also a few up around the Four-ways. If you can get your hands on some squirt worms for bait you should catch a few.

Bream have been caught fishing lures like cranka crabs and soft plastics along the rockwall near the boat shed. The oyster racks have also fished quite well.

Flathead are hanging around on the edge of the channel near the boat shed. Drifting baits such as prawns and pillie cubes should catch you a nice feed.

Rocks and Beaches

Good reports of drummer coming in off the rocks this week. Peeled prawns and crabs being the baits of choice.

Squid are still hanging around off the rocky points up and down the coast. A few rat kings and Bonito have also been spun up off the rocks in the same areas.

Salmon and tailor are still around in good numbers along most of the beaches. A few have been taking lures but most have been caught using pillies for bait.

Offshore

Unfortunately due to bad weather as of late we don't have any offshore reports this week.

Tight lines my friends and remember “every day’s a good day for fishing … “
