Moruya Community Workshed

Moruya CWS recently undertook a project for the Red Door Theatre in Moruya. We were approached to provide various props for their upcoming production of “Peter Pan – The Eurobodalla Chapter”.

Heads were put together to determine the best design for several boats that had to be light enough to be “worn” by the actors. 3-ply wood was found to be the most flexible with dog lead straps attached that actors wore over their shoulders, leaving their hands free to juggle the oars.

A template was also designed for the oars and the swords wielded by the pirates. After much experimentation, some waves were also made and, following a splash of colourful paint, the props were ready.

Our workshop was well-equipped and up to the task with equipment used including jigsaws through to table saws and a variety of sanders. Did you know that for only $10 per year you can become a social member and join us for a cuppa and a yarn? Or, if you wish to use the machinery, we charge only $25 per year which includes insurance. So come along and see us. We are in the Moruya High School grounds with entry via Bergalia Street. Inquiries to Greg on 0427 571 315 or Terry on 0418 422 403.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
