Eurobodalla Photographic Club March 2018


Eurobodalla Photographic Club meeting Tuesday 27 March Tuesday night saw professional photographer David Everdell visiting from Sydney to judge the monthly competition. The subject this time was open and projected images only.Before judging and critiquing the submitted images, David Everdell talked about his photography journey and showed us some of his amazing photographs. He has been a professional photographer, full time and part time all his life. He started off taking surfing photographs and later became a Photojournalist with writing articles with his photos. He went on to photograph Polo, Yachting (he is still the official photographer for the Sydney Yacht Squadron) and Theatre Productions at St Pauls College at Sydney University. Though this month’s competition was projected only, there was a few prints on display as club member Rob Geraghty had a display of some of his images for club members to peruse during the evening.Member Sue Hartland was spoiling us with yummy Easter goodies for supper and after supper, Beth Westra gave a presentation on the image file formats of RAW vs JPEG. Rounding off the evening was club member Rob Geraghty talking through his ideas with the printed images he had been displaying during the night. Competition winners: Gold awards (colour): Michelle Merry – “Good Morning” Merrick Bailey – “Silvereyes” Ken Foster – “Rail Bridge Strahan” Silver awards (colour): Rob Geraghty – “Sun Bright” Shirley Gunter – “Coming through the Bar” Dianne Gee – “How hard can it be?” Gold award (Monochrome): Dave Kemp – “Loco 1905” Image of the Night: Ken Foster – “Rail Bridge Strahan” Congratulations to all winners! Eurobodalla Photographic Club is planning to have an exhibition at Club Malua for River of Art 18-20 May 2018. Volunteers are always welcome to our meetings.
