Caroline Hopson | Violin

Caroline Hopson is a freelance violinist based in Sydney, and performs regularly with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Opera Australia Orchestra, Australian Haydn Ensemble, Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Caroline is a core member of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, with whom she frequently performs as principal second violin. She has also played with the Queensland, Melbourne and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, Orchestra Seventeen88 and Orchestra of the Antipodes.
As a chamber musician, Caroline has participated in the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy, Australian Festival of Chamber Music, Royal Northern College of Music International Chamber Music Festival, Huntingdon Estate, Sanguine Estate, Bangalow, Brisbane Baroque, Coramba and 4MBS Sibelius Music Festivals. During her time at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), Caroline shared the stage and coached with musicians such as Anthony Marwood, Aleksandar Madžar, Johannes Moser, Trio Dali and the Brodsky Quartet. Caroline holds a Bachelor of Music in Advanced Performance and Master of Music Studies from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and also studied with Levon Chilingirian as a scholarship student at the Royal Northern College of Music, during which she performed regularly with the Manchester Camerata. Most recently, Caroline attained her Master of Philosophy at the University of Queensland under the tutelage of Adam Chalabi, with whom she also studied at ANAM.
Eleanor Betts | Cello

Eleanor is a First Class Honours and Masters graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium, and has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia, Canberra Symphony, and the Australian Youth Orchestra. Eleanor has performed in masterclasses for artists such as Steven Isserlis, Paul Katz, Antonio Meneses, Menahem Pressler and Raphael Wallfisch, and was the recipient of the Reg Waite Award, an Ian Potter Cultural Trust grant, a JB Seed Fund Grant and a Sydney Moss Travelling Scholarship to study intensively in Europe in 2007 and Canada at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Toronto Summer Music Festival in 2008.
Eleanor is one of the founding members of the Strelitzia Piano Trio, which won the Musica Viva Chamber Music Award in 2009. In 2010, the group made the first recordings of Elena Kats-Chernin’s 'The Spirit and the Maiden' and Matthew Hindson’s Piano Trio with ABC Classic FM, and in 2014, completed their third studio recording for ABC Classic FM featuring specially commissioned works by Newcastle based composer Andrew Chubb. The Trio has given performances for the Woollahra, Camden Haven, Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields and Brunswick Beethoven Festivals, and for various groups including the Blue Mountains Concert Society, Hornsby Festival of the Arts, South Coast Music Society, Sapphire Coast Music Society (Wolumla), Montague Choristers Visiting Artists Series (Narooma), Arts Shoalhaven, and the Macarthur, Robertson, Noosa, Byron Bay, Yass, Roseville and Bay & Basin Music Associations. From 2013, the group expanded to an ensemble with a Sydney based subscription series, and also gives regular performances for the music programs of St James King St, the Nolan on Lovel Gallery in Katoomba, and the Brett Whiteley Studio in Sydney.
In 2010, Eleanor was chosen as one of the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s ‘Emerging Artists’, performing across Australia with ACO2, and with the ACO in the 2011 Sydney Festival. In 2012, Eleanor was a member of the prestigious Sydney Symphony Fellowship program, and toured to China with the orchestra in October of that year, and then again in 2014 and 2015. Eleanor continues to work as a freelance Cellist in Sydney, performing with the Sydney Symphony and in various Chamber music performances with the Strelitzia Ensemble.
Jeremy Eskenazi | Piano

“Jeremy Eskenazi is a promising young artist, with evident talent and style. He plays music from very different periods with flair and persuasiveness.” - Oleg Ledeniov, Musicwebinternational French pianist Jeremy Eskenazi is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician. The holder of a PhD in Performance Practice from the Royal Academy of Music, he has performed in many venues, such as the Festival Chopin in Paris, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Saint-Martin-in-the-Fields in London, the Holywell Music Room in Oxford, and the Istanbul Opera House. His performances and talks have been broadcast on radio networks including BBC Radio 3, ABC Classic FM, Sveriges Radio 90 år, Classical King FM 98.1, and Houston’s Classical 91.7. In 2011, the record company Divine Art released his CD Rainlight: Evocations of Water for piano solo. In 2006, Jeremy founded the Muzio ClementiSociety (http://www.clementisociety.com), which has become an authoritative online source of information highlighting Clementi'ssignificance as a composer, publisher, instrument maker, and as ‘the father of the piano'. Jeremy is the author of many scholarly articles and critical editions, published by Ut Orpheus Edizioni(Bologna), Ad Parnassum Journal, Eighteenth-Century Music (Cambridge University Press), and Edition HH. He is currently editing a 2-volume selected edition of Clementi piano sonatas for the German publisher Bärenreiter. In March 2015, Jeremy was elected Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM), together with his wife, Australian composer Alicia Grant, for a ‘significant contribution to the music profession’.
