Mo Godbeer was the two-day instructor in the encaustic painting workshop for six students this week at the Montague Art and Craft Society studios. Teaching techniques were offered to the very attentive students involving heated bees wax and paint, plus using stencils and added mediums such as metallic flakes, etc., to compose their colourful designs in several layers.
Above: a much enjoyed workshop; techniques of sgrafitto or scraping back, intarsia or infill, accretion or building up texture, were just some of the methods that Mo used to help her students create magic on their palettes!
