Kings Highway at Nelligen speed zone to be increased to 100 after upgrades

SPEED ZONE CHANGE ON KINGS HIGHWAY AT NELLIGEN

Motorists are advised the speed limit on a section of the Kings Highway at Nelligen has been increased after the completion of a $5.7 million upgrade.

Roads and Maritime Services carried out a review of the speed limit at the completion of the NSW Government funded safety project.

“The review assessed a number of factors including roadside development, traffic patterns, intersection locations and road usage,” a spokesperson said.

“The review determined the new standard of road was suitable for a higher speed limit and will be adjusted to more accurately reflect the conditions in this area.

“The existing 80 km/h speed limit will be increased to 100 km/h from 475 metres east of Bridge View Road to 1.17 kilometres east of Bridge View Road, Nelligen.”

The new speed zone takes effect from this week. Electronic messaging signs are in place to advise motorists of the new speed limit.

Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits. Media Release
