A bird strike on power lines in Batehaven left over 1000 homes without power in the Batehaven, Batemans Bay and Long Beach area yesterday. Around 4pm Monday afternoon a loud bang was heard in Batehaven with the power going down for several hours.
The Beagle was contacted by many in the area who suggest that it might not have been birds as reported in social media but flying foxes that have returned to the area.
