Graham Pratt wins Vets Par Event


On a day punctuated by burning off smoke and blue skies, a field of 62 players registered for this morning's Par event. Results were as follows:

1st: Graham Pratt with an impressive score of +5.

2nd: Les Johanson with +4.

3rd: Paul Pereira on +3.

Ball or Chocolate:

Paul Green, Ann Ware, Andrew Gordon, Stephen Crossling, Henry Anderson, Ken Brown and Leonie Snodgrass all on +2, Tim Starr, Terry Lunn, Greg Smith, Tony Crook and Steve Johnson on +1, and finally Frank Pomfret and Mike Birks on square after a count back was required.

Bradman Award:

This week's win went to an out of form Margaret Downey.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Graham Moore.

6th: Andrew Gordon with a golfer's lifetime ambition, a hole in one.

Ladies 7th: Leonie Snodgrass.

Men's 7th: Frank Pomfret.

Accuracy:

Allen Lee took out this week's award.

Next Event:

There is no Vets golf next Wednesday with the course being closed for Anzac Day commemorations. The next game on Wednesday 2 May is a Single Stableford event, also being the third and final round of the Elaine Jennings trophy for lady players. Registration is from 7.45am in the downstairs sports bar area with a shotgun start at 8.30am.
