Member for Bega Andrew Constance today announced the NSW Environmental Trust’s Eco Schools Grant Program opens for applications today, Monday 30 April and encouraged schools across the region to apply.
The Eco School Grants Program is designed to support and nurture students’ passion to protect and learn about the environment.
Mr Constance said there is eighty Eco School Grants worth $3,500 each now available.
“The NSW Environmental Trust Eco School Grants provide schools across NSW with the opportunity to deliver hands-on, curriculum-based environmental education,” said Mr Constance.
“The grants can be used to support a variety of environmental projects from edible and sustainable eco-gardens, waste audits and learning about enhancing native habitat.
“I encourage educators and school communities to apply for one of the eighty grants which aim to promote environmental sustainability knowledge, values and behaviour.
“Grants this year will be offered to student focused environmental management projects, including litter and waste reduction, water and energy conservation, bush regeneration, habitat improvement and food gardens.
