Batemans Bay Hospital Auxiliary News

The Batemans Bay Hospital Aux is one of 190 Auxiliaries in NSW supporting local hospitals and community health facilities and as each auxiliary is autonomous and raises money in their area through a variety of events, the money raised here in Batemans Bay is spent wholly and solely on equipment for our hospital and last year the auxiliary supplied equipment too the value of $34,839 and for this year so far the sum of $46,471 has been approved for this purpose. A big thank you to the people of Batemans Bay for their support over the years, without their generosity we would not be able to do what we do. The total money raised by all auxiliaries in the State was $10,772,339 for the year 2016-17.

We meet on the first Monday of the month and our next meeting is on Monday 7th May in the Conference Room at the Hospital commencing at 1.30pm, new members and visitors are very welcome. There is always something to do – we man the Kiosk at the Hospital which is now open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm and are in need of volunteers to do this. Every Tuesday we have a craft morning from 9.30am to 11.30am and is held in the Conference Room and we have supplies of wool and material, craft books, sewing machines and an overlocker available. Even if you don’t think you are crafty come along as I am sure there is something that you will realise you can do, it is a fun morning, lots of chatter and even a cuppa.

Our Mother’s Day Raffle is coming to a close but you are still able to purchase tickets in the Village Centre on Thursday 3rd and Friday 11th May to win something special for Mum.

Dates for your diaries – Sunday 24th June a Charity Auction and Book Fair to be held at Hanging Rock Sporting Complex and Monday 25th June we have been invited by the Malua Bay Carnival Committee to have a craft stall at the Club, you don’t have to be a bowler to come and have a look at what will be available. Wednesday 8th August our popular Soup and Desert Day is on again at the Hanging Rock Sporting Complex, Saturday 10th November our Handmade Market Day will be held again at the Soldiers Club and starting on Wednesday 12th December Christmas Wrapping will start and run through to Christmas Eve.
