Council put on notice about proposed sale of glider corridor

There is a narrow, vital, east west forested corrider between Village Road and Banyandah Street in South Durras. Yellow-bellied Gliders and Greater Gliders have been observed utilizing this corridor. It is essential this forested corridor is retained. Some years ago Eurobodalla Shire Council were exploring the option of disposing of this parcel of land. At the time they were easily convinced by the Friends of Durras that this was not a good idea. Unfortunately the issue has resurfaced once again. Property owners who live adjacent to this parcel of land have been undertaking some impressive advocacy to prevent this land sell off. Dale Inabinet read a submission to the Eurobodalla Shire Council proposal to rationalise Lot 84, DP 259212 South Durras speaking on behalf of directly affected adjoining residents, The Durras Community Association, South Durras Landcare Group and the Friends of Durras Conservation Group concerning the proposal to divide Lot 84, into two narrow residential blocks.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
