Moruya River
As the water is cooling down the fish are starting to slow up, so the use of long and light as possible leaders and heavily scented soft plastics and hard bodied lures like Cranka crabs and FG blades are the way to go. Bream are being caught along the rock walls from river side park down to Ryans creek and also around Preddy’s wharf/hole in the wall area. Luderick are also being caught in these areas using freshly pumped nippers or cabbage for bait. The flatties are moving up stream with some nice fish up to 75 cm being caught around the Yarragee area using both soft plastic Squidgies 100mm silver fox and mullet strips as bait.
Tuross
Flatties are being caught up the back of the system in Bumbo creek using 4 inch gulp swimming mullet in the pumpkin seed colour. Fishing around the old oyster poles in Coopers bay produced a few flatties and bream for Graham and Jack during the week, with Diawa double clutch 55mm in the black sniper colour working the best. A few jewies are still being caught down the front of the system mainly using live baits to catch them.
Rocks and Beaches
Large schools of salmon are cruising around the beaches and headlands at the moment, you can target these fish using a paternoster rig with pilchards or try throwing some Arma metal slices. Nathan has been having some fun lately catching nice drummer, groper and bream down around the Bingie area using peeled prawns and crabs as bait.
Offshore
some good catches of snapper, sand flatties, mowies and sharks have been caught out around the 50-60 metre mark. Tuna strips and California calamari have been the best baits to use.
