At the recent meeting of the Batemans Bay Indoor Aquatic Centre Committee (BBIAC) Lindsay Usher and Warren Sharpe, from Eurobodalla Shire Council, updated members regarding development of the proposed Aquatic and Arts Centre.
Lindsay Usher, ESC Director of Planning and Sustainability, reported that Council has applied for a Federal Government grant to supplement the $26M State Government Grant. Council received several Expressions of Interest in the project and has sent tender documents to four of these. On receipt of these, Council will put them out for community consultation. The current proposal is for a 25 m x 10 lane pool
In response to questions about the existing pool, Warren Sharpe, ESC Director of Infrastructure Services, explained that it has structural issues requiring expensive maintenance, the lanes are not compliant, it does not have full accessibility, and the quality of the water circulation is not up to current standards.
BBIAC held a stall at Bunnings Mother’s Day evening on Thursday 10th May, and the Mother’s Day raffle was drawn on Saturday 12th May at a stall in the Village Centre. The next stall will be at the Village Centre on Saturday 23rd June.
The Committee has organised a Pre-Loved Fashion Parade of clothes (sizes XS to XL) at 2pm on Saturday 3rd June at the Catalina Club. Entry is only $5.00, and, after the fashion parade, the beautiful clothes and accessories paraded will be available at bargain prices
