The Batemans Bay BMX Club held their annual BMX Open on Sunday 27th May under perfect weather conditions. With approx 300 entrants registered for the open with approx 1200 spectators attending the organisation over the weekend was seamless and brought admiration from all who attended; delighted in the newly concreted track and the preparations that made it such a successful weekend. The BMX Batemans Bay Open event bring lots of attention to the the club and to the area. It also benefits our local accommodation providers and businesses. Events like this require strong community and business house support and the BMX Batemans Bay crew had that in spades with solid support and sponsorships. The weekend started out with a great training day held on Saturday in the lead up to the Sunday races Anna Pinder of the Batemans Bay BMX Club was appreciative of the coaches who committed their skills and passion to the classes on Saturday extending "A massive thank you to Alex Cameron & Gemma-lee Thomas #512 for coming to the Bay track to coach our riders before the Open. The riders had a absolute ball learning tips and tricks on the Bay track. You guys Rock!"

Anna continues with her comments on the Sunday races "So proud of all our riders today, you did your club so proud. Everyone rode fantastically especially as we had so many first timers. The weather was perfect, the track was in top condition and the food was awesome. "Thank you to everyone who attended, we hope you had a great day. The BIGGEST thank you to all our volunteers who worked hard all day to make a very smooth running event. Thank you to the members of other club who also helped us out in setting up and packing up plus more. You all Rock!! "Thank you to all our sponsors for supporting our club. It is so great to see so many business supporting local clubs. See you all next year".
