Smoother And Safer Journeys On The Way For Kings Highway Motorists

Work will soon start on essential maintenance to the Kings Highway west of Braidwood, with upgrades to be undertaken to provide smoother and safer journeys for motorists.

Member for Monaro John Barilaro said the NSW Government has provided $500,000 for the work as part of its $1.5 billion annual maintenance program, which aims to improve the state’s 18,028 kilometre road network.

“Work will be carried out on the Kings Highway to resurface the road from the Warri Bridge up to the Warri overtaking lane west of Braidwood,” Mr Barilaro said.

“This section of the highway is in need of resurfacing and the work will result in smoother journeys for motorists and improved skid resistance for motorcycle riders.”

Mr Barilaro said work will take place from Wednesday 30 May to Tuesday 5 June between 7am and 5pm, weather permitting.

For the safety of workers and road users, changed conditions will be in place during work hours and involve the closure of one lane with an alternate traffic flow.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey and allow extra travel time, as delays of up to five minutes are expected while work is carried out.

Mr Barilaro said the nearby rest area will not be impacted by this work.

Motorists are thanked for their patience while this work takes place.
