Welcome to this week’s editorial, Just a quick editorial this week as there is much ahead for you to read being a long weekend. Thank you very much to all who sent in messages saying how much they appreciated the new Beagle business cards that have a section on the back to alert emergency services that you have animals at home waiting to be cared for. For those who missed last week’s Beagle Weekender I have attached the insert below that you might print it out and put it in your own wallet or purse.
There is much on offer this weekend around the shire and even though winter has arrived there is still a steady stream of Canberra visitors to the coast seeking respite from their cold. Narooma has Huntfest, Tilba has its Woodworking exhibition and Bodalla has a photographic exhibition. Don’t forget that this is a long weekend and that NSW Police are reminding road users to make safe decisions on the roads and share the responsibility on the eve of Operation Stay Alert.
Operation Stay Alert begins on Friday 8 June 2018 at 12.01am and concludes at 11.59pm on Monday 11 June 2018 and double demerits will apply throughout the four-day operation.
So far this year, 154 people have already lost their lives on NSW roads, four more than the same time last year. If you are going to the snow please be particularly careful.
Ours Princes Highway is a dangerous section of highway at the best of times and with the increased holiday traffic and the wet conditions we could all be a little more cautious. Enjoy the long weekend and try to keep safe and warm. Until next Lei
