Your Tackle World Moruya fishing report as at June 22nd

Moruya And Tuross River

Both rivers have been a little quiet this week due to cold temperatures, wind and rain, but a few nice fish are still being caught.

If bream are your target species, try fishing the deeper sections towards the front of both Moruya and Tuross River. FG blades and Gulp shrimp fished on 3 and 4lb leaders have worked well. Peeled prawns and beach worms fished very light should have you covered if bait fishing.

Estuary perch are being caught around Moruya bridge and also in the leases at Tuross. Soft plastics and surface lures are both working. Just remember it is closed season for this species and all fish caught must be released.

The boatshed area in Tuross has produced a few mulloway this week, mainly on live or fresh baits.

Rocks and Beaches

The big swells have stirred things up and formed a few nice gutters off the beaches. Some good fishing should be had over the weekend. Large schools of salmon are all up and down the coast. The squid have moved back in and are being caught off the rocks at Broulee, Bingi and Moruya. Reports of some good size Drummer also.

Offshore

Due to the rough seas and bad weather as of late, we have only had minimal offshore reports, but we do know the tuna have moved in between Batemans Bay and Narooma and it's looking to be a very hot bite over the weekend.

Tight lines my friends and remember “every day’s a good day for fishing … “
