Eurobodalla Walking For Pleasure July 2018

EUROBODALLA WALKING FOR PLEASURE - JULY 2018

All walks begin at 11am sharp and last 1 to 1½ hours, or less, depending on one's ability. Afterwards enjoy a BYO picnic lunch together. Bring a chair/seat to be comfortable, good walking shoes, protection from the weather and a drink. So come walking, make new friends, and enjoy yourself. Please note that the walks are never cancelled due to the weather.

4 JULY MOSSY POINT: ANCHOR LOOKOUT—TOMAGA RIVER & CANDLAGAN CK

From the north, turn left off George Bass Drive into Annetts Parade, which veers to the left just before Candlagan Creek. Continue around to the first track on the right to The Anchor Lookout, before the road descends to the boat ramp.

From the south, turn right off George Bass Drive into Broulee Rd, follow this until you cross Candlagan Creek, turn sharp right into Annetts Parade, then continue around to the first track on the right to The Anchor Lookout, before the road descends to the boat ramp.

The walk will be along the Tomaga River and Connells Close up to George Bass Drive, cross Candlagan Creek, and then return along and over Candlagan Creek and back along the headland, returning to the cars for lunch.

11 JULY: MORUYA NORTH HEAD: CAMPGROUND—BEACH TOWARDS BROULEE

Today meet at the Moruya primitive camping ground, on North Head Drive, just past the Moruya Airport. The walk will be along Bengello Beach towards Broulee and return for lunch.

18 JULY MORUYA: YARRAGEE ROAD, RIVER END

Take the Princes Highway to the Vulcan St/Campbell St roundabout at Moruya, then turn into Campbell Street (a right turn for those from north of Moruya, but straight through from the south). Follow this street west for about 2 km to the top of the hill, and turn right into Yarragee Road. Follow Yarragee Road to the end, and then drive further along the track to the parking area. The walk will be back along Yarragee Road to Ted Hunt Drive and return for lunch and a cuppa.

25 JULY MERINGO—MULLIMBURRA POINT

On the Princes Highway 9 km south of Moruya, at Bergalia, turn east off the highway into Bingi Road. Follow Bingi Road for 2.2 km (past the Congo turnoff), then turn left into the Meringo road. Follow this for 3 km to the Meringo settlement. If there has been rain, we will stop in the grassed area opposite the houses. If the track past the houses is dry and not too rough we will continue along it around the headland finally driving down a dirt track through the trees to an undeveloped parking area. The walk will follow the beach, and along a dirt road to Mullimburra Point.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
