Ian McManus: Best in stableford competition


Tuross Heads Country Club men's golf stableford competition held last Saturday resulted in a win for consistent golfer Ian McManus with a score of 38 stableford points.

Ian was followed by well known local golfer Brad Doolan with a close 37 points.

Paul Ferguson and Herb Muriwai also handed in cards of 37 points to fill the minor positions on a countback.

Nearest the pins were awarded to:

A grade player Ian McManus with 1.72 m on the 4th hole.

Leigh Coloe was best on the 6th with 59 centimetres and

Ian McManus also won the 7th with 5.82 m.

B grade best was Glen Shearer on the 4th with 2.70 m

Steve Johnston was the closest of the C grade players with 4.41 m on the 4th hole.

Peter Johnston won the 6th with 2.57 m and

Kane Duncan the 7th with 4.51 m.

Thursday's medley stableford competition was won by Paul Israel with 37 points.

Brad Doolan was second on a countback.

Michael Hogan and Al Gannon filled the remaining award spots both finishing with 36 points.

Nearest the pins were Al Gannon on the 4th, Ian Manton on the 6th and

Colin Houghton on the 7th hole.
