News from Division 2 Tomakin Team
Above: Tennis article from Tomakin -Trish Pye , Lyn Robbins , Anne Edwards , Kathy McKenzie , (Front ) Cassandra Mosko We have 6 players in our team and have only started playing together this year in Division 2 of the Eurobodalla Ladies Competition.
Most of us are over 60yrs and we all appreciate the energy and vitality of our youngest, Trish, who lifts us up with her joy of living!
The summer months are a struggle with high temperatures, and only once did we call off a match when it was 37 degrees. The cold months have their problems too as our muscles and bones take time to warm up!
Our team has a practice/social hit on Tuesdays at our home courts at the Tomakin Sports and Social Club, and some team members also have coaching lessons from Rob Frawley at the Bay courts.
Division 2 has a great group of ladies coming from Narooma to Batemans Bay – 8 teams in all with approx. 53 players. We are all very similar in standard so competition is keen!
We are fortunate to be leading the Comp in Div 2 at this stage as many teams struggle to field a team when members go holidaying overseas or in caravans. There is a long way to go yet as the Comp finishes in November!
