For their winter concert on July 22, the Montague Choristers with conductor by Philip Hartstein and associate artist William Hawkey, present a selection of traditional Norwegian, Hungarian and American folk songs, arranged by Edvard Grieg, Bela Bartok, Zoltan Kodaly and Aaron Copland. Featuring fresh, lively choral settings which enhance the original songs without forcing them to conform to the staid traditional harmonies favoured by nineteenth century composers, this is a free concert not to be missed.
