Broulee Runners Wed July 11th 2018

Excellent conditions for vigorous running and walking greeted the 73 starters in Wednesday’s weekly Broulee event. We welcomed Nash and Alby Clark, Jeremy Archer, L Hofwood, and Charlotte Devine to their first run with the group.

In the 2 kilometres personal best times were recorded by Jessica Flood, Poppy Melgaard, Jonathan Antoniak, Madeline and Kye O’Connell, Milly Shanahan, Sabrina Mallard, Jacquie Berry, Amelia Tomson and Isabella O’Brien.

In the 3.5 kilometres the improvers were Xavier and Alice O’Brien, Hayden Louttit and Nancy Costin.

The lone star in the 5 kilometres was a regular visitor from Canberra Simon Wall. Simon is very dedicated to his fitness and runs at least 5 kilometres every day and he has not missed a day in over 12 months.

The special feature of this evening was the presentation of 30-run shirts to Liz and Jo Pirro (Pictured). They started with the group on 26 July last year. They are in their seventies and are resident at Banksia Village. Their efforts have inspired other residents to come and participate. The event is for all levels of fitness and it builds community spirit.
