Photos: Fire and Rescue NSW Station 384 Moruya Fire and Rescue NSW Station 384 were paged to grass fire opposite Caltex service station on the Princes Highway, Moruya. Located opposite the golf course the fire posed a potential threat to adjacent houses P384, 384s responded to medium size grass fire burning fiercely under high winds, with help from Moruya RFS, Broulee RFS, Tuross head RFS and Batemans bay station 217 fire and rescue the fire was brought under control and extinguished. There was however a re-ignition resulting in a small fire that was extinguished and blacked out in some deep peat on site. Moruya Rural Fire Brigade reported that it was a challenging fire to begin with due to high fuel loads. Fire crews remind the community to be aware that it is extremely dry and fires will move very fast under even light winds.
