Children up to the age of 16 will be allowed to ride on the footpath in NSW.

From today, children up to the age of 16 will be allowed to ride on the footpath in NSW. If your child rides their bike on the footpath or on a shared path remind them to:

• Keep to the left • Give way to pedestrians • Always wear their helmet. An adult rider who is supervising a bicycle rider under 16 may also ride with the young rider on the footpath.
