Eurobodalla Walking For Pleasure August 2018


EUROBODALLA WALKING FOR PLEASURE - August 2018

All walks begin at 11am sharp and last 1 to 1½ hours, or less, depending on one's ability. Afterwards enjoy a BYO picnic lunch together. Bring a chair/seat to be comfortable, good walking shoes, protection from the weather and a drink. So come walking, make new friends, and enjoy yourself. Please note that the walks are never cancelled due to the weather.

AUGUST 2018

1 AUGUST TUROSS HEAD: SPORTS GROUND—PATH ALONG COILA LAKE

Today meet at the Tuross Sport and Recreation Ground. Turn off the Princes Highway into Hector Mc William Drive, follow this for about 3 km down to beside the edge of Tuross Lake and take the first turn left (signposted) to the sports ground. The walk will follow the walkway along Coila Lake to the Ocean. Remember to bring a picnic lunch!

8 AUGUST BATEHAVEN: CASEYS BEACH—SUNSHINE BAY

Today meet at the northern end of Caseys Beach at the picnic and parking area, off Beach Road, Batehaven. The walk will be along the beach and around the headland to Sunshine Bay beach, then back to enjoy a well-earned cuppa.

15 AUGUST MORUYA SOUTH HEAD: SURF CLUB—PREDDEYS WHARF

On the Princes Highway on the south side of Moruya township turn into South Head Road at the roundabout. Follow this road for about 6.5 km, then turn left into Charles Moffitt Drive and follow this to the parking area near the Moruya Surf Club. The walk today will be back along the footpath beside South Head Road and Preddeys Wharf Road to the Moruya River, and then return for lunch.

22 AUGUST CONGO CAMPING GROUND: CONGO ROAD AND BEACH WALK

From the north drive south along the Princes Highway through Moruya, take the South Head Road at the roundabout just south of Moruya town, drive for about 1.8km, and then turn right to Congo, Congo Road.

From the south take the Bingi turnoff from the Princes Highway just south of Bergalia (9 km south of Moruya), and then take the first turnoff to the left to Congo, Congo Road. Congo Road becomes the main street of Congo, houses both sides. At the north end is the entry to the Campground on the sea side.

Meet at the Congo camping ground area. Come along and enjoy this beautiful area. The walk will be south along Congo Road and the Dreamtime Trail, then to the beach and back over Congo Point on easy wooden steps to the campground.

29 AUGUST BUMBO ROAD, NEAR TRUNKETABELLA

The Bumbo Road turnoff is on the west side of the Princes Highway just north of the Tuross River bridge, or 5.9 km south of Hector McWilliam Drive (Tuross Head road). Drive south from Moruya on the Princes Highway, past the Trunketabella Gardens and across Trunketabella Creek, and then take the first turn to the right into Bumbo Road. After 1.4 km from the highway, take the right-hand road branch up the hill. At 3.7 km from the highway park in the open area on the left beside Bumbo Creek. The walk will be 2 km further along Bumbo Road then return for lunch.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand.
