Strong winds prove a challenge : Marine Rescue Batemans Bay assists

A crew from Marine Rescue Batemans Bay this morning assisted a yacht, that was having difficulty navigating the channel and entrance to the marina in the strong winds.

The duty radio officers Liz Rankin and Greg Irvine observed the yacht failing to make way against the strong winds and tasked BM21 to assist the vessel. Within minutes, BM21 was on the water, and underway, crewed by Matt Mason, Warren Lewis and David Murn. The yacht was quickly taken under tow and despite challenging wind and tide conditions, the crew were able to manoeuvre it safely into the marina.
