Local Scouts Receive Highest Scout Award


The 1st Batemans Bay Scout Group was well represented at the NSW Australian Scout Medallion (ASM) Presentation Ceremony in Sydney on Sunday 12 August. Joshua, Ella and Hayden were among a group of 33 NSW Scouts presented with the ASM. The presentation was made by Mr Neville Tomkins OAM, Chief Commissioner of Scouts NSW following a message from the Governor of NSW His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d).

The Australian Scout Medallion is the highest award for a scout to achieve under 15 years of age. It is a non-competitive program where each Scout takes part in adventure including overnight camps, hikes and leadership-based activities designed to encourage their personal, social and leadership skills.

The Batemans Bay Scout Group runs each Thursday night 6:30-8:30pm. New scouts are always welcome. Please contact Laszlo Schuster on 0403 942 456 for more information.
