Dave Bray wins golf triathlon


Tuross Head Country Club's par event this week completed the last round of the annual Triathlon competition. After compiling the best results from the three stroke, stableford and par games the winner was Dave Bray with a total score of 103, narrowly beating Paul Israel 102 and Stephen Swanbury 100.

The results of the Saturday par competition was Jim Madden with plus 4 followed by Ross Hendy who also recorded a plus 4 score but was placed second on a countback.

Leigh Coloe plus 3, Paul Pereira and Richard Kelly both on plus 2 were other placegetters.

Nearest the pins:

A grade golfer Bob Hay was closest on the 4th hole with 1.52 m. and Bob was also best on the 6th hole with 1.96 m.

Rick Monopoli won the 7th hole with 4.90 m.

B grade went to Greg Ware on the 4th hole with 6.10 m. and Tony Brown was awarded the 6th with 6.35 m.

C grade best was Mick Elfar with 6.73 m on the 4th hole.

Gerry Strickland won the 6th with 1.42 m and

Peter McRae was closest on the 7th with 3.80 m.

Players are asked to support the Tuross Head lady golfers Moruya Hospital Charity Day on Tuesday September 4th.

This is a 18 hole medley 4 person Ambrose, shotgun start, competition with plenty of prizes available to be won on the day.

Also keep in mind, for those who are eligible, the Tuross Head Seniors Open is scheduled for Sunday September 23rd.

The event is a 18 hole stroke competition, open to both ladies and men.

Awards will be made in A & B grades .

A bbq lunch will also be provided.

Thursday's medley stableford competition was won by Ian Manton with 37 points, ahead of Peter Dugan on a countback.

Peter Garn 36 points and Peter McRae 34 points filled the remaining positions.

Nearest the pins were won by Steve Swanbury and Colin Houghton.
