Council have today issued invitations to those who made submissions on the Rural Lands Strategy about the meeting and were not advised of the agenda item coming before council. Under Council's protocols all those who make a submission are contacted prior to the agenda item being determined by Councillors enabling them to make presentation during Public Forum on the day. Last week councillors heard from twenty three public speakers putting forward their concerns, for and against. Council then voted 7 to 2 to adopt the Strategy. Though it is now "done and dusted" Council have today advised that further submissions to the Planning Proposal to amend Eurobodalla Local Environmental Plan 2012 to implement the Rural Lands Strategy and make other amendments will be heard at the next Council meeting on 11 September 2018. Council has today written to several speakers advising "It has come to the attention of Council staff that a number of submitters did not receive notification of the Council meeting on 28 August 2018 as a result of a technical issue experienced during the notification process. "Council wish to apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused some submitters. "We also wish to offer you an invitation to speak on the submission at the next Council meeting on 11 September 2018. If you wish to speak in Public Forum you will need to register by 12 noon on Monday 10 September 2018 as only persons registered will be permitted to speak. Speakers in Public Forum are allocated five minutes to make their submission. It would be appreciated if you could provide a written version of your submission, either emailed to the address below or handed to the minute secretary after you speak on the day. "These submissions will be placed on Council’s website. "The Public Forum for agenda items commences at 10.00am, so you will need to be at the Council Chambers in Moruya just prior to that time. Speakers will be heard in the order in which their requests to be registered for Public Forum are received. All submissions were provided to Councillors and considered in preparing the Council report. A copy of all responses to submissions can be found on Council’s website:Rural Lands Planning Proposal presentation - http://www.esc.nsw.gov.au/inside-council/project-and-exhibitions/rural-lands-strategy Council Report http://www.esc.nsw.gov.au/inside-council/council/meetings
