On what was a beautifully warm morning a strong field of 59 players registered for this morning's Stroke and Putts event, the game also being the second and final round of the Vets championships for 2018. Results on the day were as follows:
1st: Noel Downie returning to form with a fine nett 27.
2nd: Mike Birks with a nett 29 on count back.
3rd: Bruce Ware, also with a nett 29.
4th: Herb Muriwai on 33 on count back.
Ball or Chocolate:
Frank Pomfret and Paul Pereira on 33, Tony Crook, Noel Fletcher, Robin Green and Neal Watson on 34, Kevin Dukes, Michael Kermode, Marcel Kors and Annette Manton on 35, and finally Greg Smith, David Williams, Richard Kelly and Gayle Macalpine on 36.
Putts:
Len Rogers won the putting competition with a low score of 13 putts for the nine holes.
Bradman Award:
Rob Nash experienced a bad day and was the clear winner of the infamous award this week.
