With the Sculpture on Clyde event this year lifting the bar taking the annual exhibition and competition to an international standard the organisers sought popular feed back that suggested that the community would also like to acquire two other pieces in addition to this year’s winning entry. The crowd funding is progressing well and the community is invited to donate, big or small, which will see the pieces installed on the Bay's Sculpture Walk for the public to permanently enjoy. The 2018 winning entry and acquistion by Haruyuki Uchida titled, "Dance", will join Jesse Graham’s much celebrated octopus, "Buoyansea", on Beach Road the Sculpture on Clyde committee have initiated a crowd funding campaign to place an extra two sculptures on the Batemans Bay foreshore.

Batemans Bay Chamber of Business and Tourism president and Sculpture on Clyde spokesman David Maclachlan told the Beagle that two other pieces had attracted plenty of attention.
“Our Sculpture on Clyde community initiative invites the community to help purchase the very popular “Pelicant”, also by Jesse Graham and “Portal” by John Fitzmaurice.
“We have raised almost $40,000 but need to raise another $21,000. Then the sculptures will be permanently placed on the Clyde River foreshore...
The Sculpture on Clyde event organised by the Batemans Bay Business and Tourism Chamber is all about acquiring new sculptures for a significant Sculpture Walk on the Batemans Bay Foreshore.
David said “We have just started and we want to start BIG.
“The community can help transform Batemans Bay with big, beautiful art by contributing to the creation of an amazing Sculpture Walk in Batemans Bay.
“Look at what happened when we purchased and installed the sculpture "Buoyansea",. It is an online hit - tourists stop all day, every day to take pictures – it’s great for the community we take pride in, and great for tourism - our largest industry. Our first attempt was a hit, how about an even bigger hit.
