Wal Williams takes out Vets Single Stableford


With the weather turning for the better a good field of 59 players registered for today's Single Stableford event. Results on the day were as follows:

1st: Wal Williams with a fine score of 24 points.

2nd: Greg Smith on 22.

3rd: Terry Lunn with 20 points on count back.

4th: Steve Johnston also on 20 points and again on count back.

Ball or Chocolate:

Paul Green on 20, Jeanette Miller and Alan Lee on 19, Teri Swanbury, Noel Fletcher, Gail Rogers, Lyn Benger, Kay McLeod, Greg Thornton and Warren Hodder all on 18 points.

Bradman Award:

A two way count back was required to determine this week's winner of the infamous award, but in the end Gayle Macalpine edged out Noel Downie.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Greg Smith.

6th: Terry Lunn.

Ladies 7th: Jeanette Miller.

Men's 7th: Wal Williams.

Accuracy:

Solveig Olsson received generous applause from the post match gathering for one of her rare accuracy wins today.

Next Week:

Next week's game will be a Par event with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and a shotgun start at 8.30am.

Ladies Champion: Teri Swanbury.

Ladies Runner Up: Dorothy Madden.

Men's Champion: Noel Fletcher.

Men's Runner Up: Mike Birks.
