Council Meeting of Tuesday 25th Sept

The Tuesday meeting of Council looks to be of interest with Councillor McGinlay putting up a motion that will allow the 'public access' presentations, that are held prior to the council meetings, be live streamed and recorded in the same manner as the 'public forum' presentations. The PUBLIC FORUM starts at 10am sharp and can be watched via Live Streaming HERE

Watch live from 10am Tuesday Sept 25th, 2018 There are many in the shire (and the 30% absent ratepayers) who benefit from the Live Streaming of Council meetings and it is strongly considered that the Public Access sessions that precede a Council meeting also be Live Streamed. Councillor Mayne will be presenting a motion that Council write to Forestry Corporation NSW requesting that they consider increasing the exclusion zone to 50 metres along both sides of the Princes Highway within Corunna State Forest compartment 3058 to minimise the potential adverse impact on the visual amenity and associated tourism values of the area. The logging of this compartment is meeting more and more criticism in regards to its financial benefits and the use of the timber being logged weighed against the environmental and social consequences. Now the additional element of tourism and the apparent disregard of Forestry or the State Government to come to the table and discuss the absolute necessity of logging is coming to the boil.

The next item should be of interest to those who enjoy the argy-bargy of politics with the appointment of the position of Deputy Mayor There will be a the necessary administrative stuff like the nomination and appointments of Councillors to Council Committees and External Bodies and the appointment of an independent member to the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee and the nomination to the Heritage Advisory Committee along with the annual Heritage Report 2017-2018 From here on in it will lose its appeal as it covers the following:

PSR18/083 2017-18 Environmental education status report

PSR18/084 2017-18 Natural Resource Management Status Report

PSR18/085 Draft Eurobodalla Flying-fox Management Plan 2018
