Kay McLeod Blows Field away for Par Win

With the threat of rain during the morning a number of regular Vets golfers decided to stay under the covers this morning and a small field of 39 players registered for today's event. Results were as follows:

1st: Kay McLeod with a magnificent +6, moreso since the greens were cored and sanded the day before.

2nd: Ian Wratten with +3 on count back.

3rd: Warren Hodder, also on +3 and also on count back.

4th: Andrew Gordon, another +3.

Ball or Chocolate:

Robert McKirdy, David Williams and Tim Starr on +2, followed by Wal Williams, Peg Nevett, Richard Kelly and Herb Muriwai all on +1 and all on count back.

Bradman Award:

Les Johanson won the award this week, but only after another count back situation.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Ken Brown.

6th: Greg Smith.

Ladies 7th: Dorothy Madden.

Men's 7th: Richard Kelly.

Accuracy:

Gail Rogers fired a straight drive almost alongside the string line on the 5th to win the award this week.

Next Week:

Next week's event is a 4BBB Stableford game with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and a shotgun start at 8.30am.
