Do you have what it takes to be a volunteer? Time? Enthusiasm? Willingness to help a community organisation that has been bringing entertainment to the town for more than a quarter of a century?
As is the case with most community organisations, Bay Theatre Players runs entirely on volunteers, from actors to directors to costumer makers and makeup artists through to lighting and sound technicians. Without volunteers, this wonderful theatre would not be able to bring you fabulous live theatre in your home town.
Right now they are looking for people who have a few hours to spare in November. They need some (volunteer) Ushers to assist their (volunteer) Front of House Managers during the 18-show run of the upcoming production of ‘Guys & Dolls’.
What’s involved? Welcoming our audience to the theatre; selling programs; showing members of the audience to their seats in the auditorium; helping with afternoon tea or supper; farewelling the audience; helping tidy up and clean at the end of the show. This all takes around four hours of your time.
The Bay Theatre Players are required by law to have two ushers in the auditorium for every show in addition to at least one person in the Box Office/foyer. With eighteen performances scheduled for ’Guys & Dolls’, this means their Front-of-House coordinator, Viv Wheatley, has 54 vacant positions to fill for Front-of-House managers and ushers!
If you have a little time to spare during November, please contact Viv on 0416 083 545 and she will arrange a brief training session for you and roster you on at for a show or two on days/nights that suit you.
And if you would like to buy a ticket or two to see the show, just go to www.trybooking.com/YAUP for online tickets OR there are cash sales at the Box Office at the theatre (33 Gregory Street Batemans Bay) every Saturday morning from 10:00am to 12:00noon.
