Nelligen Boat Ramp carpark work to begin

NELLIGEN BOAT RAMP (WHARF STREET) - ADDITIONAL CAR & BOAT TRAILER PARKING Eurobodalla Shire Council staff expect to commence construction of Stage 1 (additional 29 parking spaces) within the next 2 weeks, with completion before the peak summer holidays.

Council have been successful in obtaining a $160,000 grant through the NSW State Government Boating Now funding program so that an additional car and boat trailer parking area can be built to service the boat ramp on Wharf Street, Nelligen. The additional car park has been designed to cater for the high use of the boat ramp experienced particularly during peak periods. The existing car park adjacent to the boat ramp currently has nine spaces for cars and boat trailers. The new car park will provide an additional 29 spaces. Council has acquired vacant land at the southern end of Wharf Street to allow for construction. A new service road will connect the existing car park to the new parking area. Vehicles will be have the option to continue through the car park and exit onto Tennis Court Lane. Three new streetlights will provide sufficient lighting for the service road and the car park. Use of the boat ramp and existing car and boat trailer parking area will not be affected during construction. Editors Note: Is this the council's Clyde River boating masterplan revealed?.... carparking extensions at Nelligen. Stage 1 is for 29 and stage 2 for 31 spaces. Knowing that the existing Clyde Street West boatramp will be all but rendered useless due to compromised access caused by the new bridge is this the fix - to move everyone accessing this leg of the river to Nelligen ?

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
