Moruya Probus told of PNG

NEW GUINEA was the flavour of the month at the monthly meeting of Moruya Probus on Tuesday. Member Julia Montgomery opened the proceedings with a story about her experiences there as a new bride, including going on a memorable patrol with her new husband, David. And later in the meeting David told of some of his experiences as an agriculture officer there. Carol Imrie outlined some impending activities available to members, including luncheon at Moruya’s Thai Restaurant on November 13 and an outing with Eurobodalla Classic and Vintage Motor Club on November 28. Christmas luncheon, Carol added, would be at Moruya Golf Club on December 11. Acting tours officer Netta Behringer told members all was going well for the impending trip to Mudgee. She said possible outings in February and March would be discussed at the November meeting. Max Hogno told members that newsletter editor Ingrid Petts was making good progress in hospital. Moruya Probus meets at Moruya Golf Club at ten-o’clock on the fourth Tuesday of each month. There are many advantages with being a member of Probus. Apart from meeting new friends, and sometimes some old ones, there are opportunities of being involved in outings. There are discounts for some members with restaurants and hotels and more reasonable travel insurance rates that seniors may otherwise be offered.
