Tony Brown wins Tuross Head Country Club stableford


Tony Brown was the winner of the men's stableford competition on Saturday with an excellent score of 40 points. He was closely followed by Stephen Swanbury, Colin Houghton, Greg Booth and Bruce Brawn, who all returned cards of 39 points. Nearest the pins were won by A grade golfer Bob Hay on the 4th hole with 0.88 m. Colin Houghton was closest on the 6th hole with 2.57 m and Adam Husband was best on the 7th with 2.02 m. B grade player Reg Apps won the 4th hole with 4.79 m. Greg Booth was best on the 6th with 1.89 m and Ian Manton was awarded the 7th with 2.48 m. C grade golfer Peter Hogan had a close 0.89 m on the 4th hole and Peter McRae won the 6th with 2.89 m. Districe and local golfers are reminded the THCC Open Championships are being held over 36 holes, on Saturday and Sunday December 1st and 2nd. Thursday's medley stableford competition was won by Brad Doolan with 39 points ahead of Ian Miller, Bob Hay and Steve Johnston who all finished on 38 points. Nearest the pins were awarded to Ian Maanton, Steve Johnston and Colin Houghton.
