The Tuross Head Progress Association Beach Wheelchair was given a refurbishment in readiness for the upcoming beach going season. A total overhaul that now includes 2 spare wheels & tyres (donated anonymously) was generously carried out by Phil Morton of the Tuross Service Station.
John Tilbrook, secretary of the Tuross Head Progress Association also extended his thanks to Anne & Ken Parker for their efforts in ferrying the Beach Wheelchair to and from the Tuross Beach Holiday Park, which is the permanent home for the Beach Wheelchair available to anyone with a disability who would like to use the chair for a beach excursion free of charge. John and members of the Tuross Progress Association were horrified last year to learn that Council had given their chair away in the belief that the beach chair was council property. The chair, one of the first to be installed in the Eurobodalla was donated by the Progress Association for use in the community, long before Council began to attract outside grants to provision more. John said "Since then there has been a terrific response in the community and only recently we heard that Broulee had been given, by kind donation, a Rolls Royce of a beach chair to offer those attending Broulee Beach" Fortunately the chair was found and recovered back to Tuross Head where it is generously housed and administered by the Tuross Beach Holiday Park (Ph 02 4473 8236) .
