THERE are some big changes ahead members of Moruya RSL Sub-branch were told at the monthly meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
Many of them will relate to a new RSL Constitution that will be submitted at a Congress next month. In the hour prior to Tuesday’s meeting members were told of some of the ramifications of the draft constitution, the improvements it might bring, and some of the potential problems. At the meeting members unanimously decided to support the draft.
At the previous meeting members were told of the resignation of long-standing Sub-branch president Harold Barkley. That was accepted with great regret with a decision to offer Mr Barkley the position of Patron.
Nominations were then called for the vacant position of president with senior vice-president Kevin Setter being the only nomination, seeing him elected with no objections.
Members were told that secretary Barry Stephens was also resigning and it was decided to call for nominations to fill eight vacancies for committee members and trustees, to be received at the next meeting on December 18.
Tuesday’s meeting also saw Gary Donoghue welcomed as a member of the sub-branch.
The sub-branch Christmas luncheon will be held at Moruya Golf Club on November 22.
