The Bay Theatre Players’ wonderfully successful production of Guys and Dolls has come to an end
Following the adapted script of the Broadway smash hit the play has delighted audiences to mainly full houses over the production run with the last two performances booked out. At the final performance director Lerae Davison thanked the cast, crew and production team for the mammoth effort they had put in to the production making it such a success. At the end of the season there were been eighteen performances of 'Guys and Dolls' given on the Playhouse stage running from 27 October 2018 through to 1 December 2018 with a number of the shows sold out well in advance of opening night.
Directed by Lerae Davison, GUYS AND DOLLS is a much loved musical fable of Broadway, based on the story and characters of Damon Runyon with music and lyrics by: Frank Loesser. Licensed exclusively by Music Theatre International (Australasia) the BTP appreciate that all the performance materials were supplied by Hal Leonard Australia.
The group presents three and sometimes four Productions each year, encompassing a broad range of Australian and International Comedy, Drama, Farce, and Musicals. Being entirely self funding and owning our premises gives us the opportunity to assist other Local & National Charities in their fundraising activities.
Bay Theatre Players Inc will soon be holding auditions for Debra Oswald's Dags with an audition workshop to be held on Sunday, December 16th, from 10am to 2pm in the Gregory Street theatre. The synopsis of Dags is fun: Gillian is sixteen, suffers from the occasional ‘ack-attack’, and is worried about not having a boyfriend. She loves chocolate and is infatuated with the best-looking boy in school. A funny and compassionate look at adolescence.
The workshop will cover the synopsis of the play, the available roles, the director's vision and the rehearsal expectations. More info HERE
