Moruya's main street is looking very festive thanks to the team work between the Moruya Business Chamber, Moruya Rotary and Moruya Lions. On one side of the highway are the tinsel decorations attached to special mounts on the street lights. On the opposite side of Vulcan Street, the Moruya local Lions Club have their famous Santa's sitting atop of shop awnings.
The Moruya Chamber of Commerce and Moruya Rotary have now put up their tinselled street light decorations and Moruya Lions have installed their Santas over the towns awnings and beyond to the Moruya Industrial area as part of their annual Santa campaign. The Merry Moruya Christmas Window Display Competition is going along well with good participation from local businesses and the town has a very festive mood. Lions Moruya have been installing the Christmas Santas each year to the Moruya business precinct as part of their annual fundraiser with all the proceeds being returned to the community. Installation is mainly by Lions members with the occasional assistance of local church groups who also benefit from the drive. It all makes for a very Merry Christmas.
