The Batemans Bay Bridge has standard operating protocol, which includes a high temperature alarm when there is a 35 degree or higher ambient temperature.
In anticipation for hot weather on Friday and Saturday a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson has advised that the bridge will not perform the standard lift twice a day at 11.40am and 2.20pm.
"As per usual process, if local boat operators require a lift between 6pm and 7am this will be accommodated unless the temperature continues to be higher than 35 degrees" the Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
Usual bridge operation will resume on Sunday, weather permitting.
